How to select the best Flip Lid Sensor Trash Can for your Brand

How to select the best Flip Lid Sensor Trash Can for your Brand

Adding a sensor bin to your product range needs more than just a capacity indication. Your customers will want to know where it can be placed, and how to use the product. No matter how helpful that photograph next to the kitchen cupboard might be, it's only useful if the lid can open in that position and the bag can easily be removed.

So for brands and online sellers looking at a flip lid sensor trash can, think about those factors in your product selection. This post walks through options to consider in detail (based on Hi-na's standard HN-ZS02 flip lid sensor bin - in 42L and 50L versions) before writing your retail listing.

First, select the indoor scene you'll use in your product photography

Select the indoor scene you'll capture product photos for. This will affect your sensor bin placement options - for example, a bin placed in the open kitchen floor space will have different placement considerations than if it was next to a cabinet, or in an office pantry. Think about how you will access the bin from the front. What other furniture is around? What's the space to change a bag?

Then, display the capacity you've chosen and how the lid opens for use

Now, understand the lid and its controls

The HN-ZS02 is a flip lid. The lid opens upwards. The standard set up enables both sensor use and manually using the controls. The sensor for hands-free waste disposal. Controls offer another option to operate the lid.

In your retail instructions, display the provided controls. Demonstrate the full lid open-close sequence. If you have claims around speed, noise, or battery life, provide evidence for this configuration.

Finally, select your size based on outside dimensions

Don't forget to combine both capacity and product height. Note that for the standard below HN-ZS02 versions, the width and depth are all listed the same, however, the body height of the 50L is higher.

50L gives you extra (nominal) capacity with the stated floor space. But also extra closed height compared to your listed (important for sitting next to furniture and for access in reaching into the bin). Perhaps 42L would be more appropriate for your intended context, if lower height is beneficial.

Allow for full opening

Just because the closed height is stated at 60 cm, does not mean that the 42L will fit (as used) in a recess of 60cm. Think about the height of lid at maximum, and proximity of shelves / worktop etc. Also allow for access to controls and for removal of bag.

For tight situations confirm with the 'real' version. Request measurements for opening or explicit demonstration (not a guess from capacity label).

Think about bag changes and regular maintenance.

The standard HN-ZS02 employs a ring to hold the bag (instead of a removable inner bin). Think about the communication you will need to give for bag liner fitting and removal of full bag. Show this in an explicit way (use of correct ring and lid combination). So customers have a practical guide.

After fitting bag, be sure there is no loose material around lid when opened. Show the configuration you are offering in your photos.

Standard power options employ 6xAA alkaline batteries. So check the inclusion (if any) of batteries in your stated supply - and state this on your listing. Also source care instructions for lid assembly. The fact it is stainless steel does not mean the e-lid can be washed / immersed.

Tailor to your brand and packaging

Once you have chosen the version agree the finishes, logo application and packaging. For example, Hi-na can discuss laser logo on the lid (for chosen version). Check artwork, location, look before using any branded imagery in your listing.

For frequent small volume orders, they supply neutral cartons. The carton labels (supplied by buyer) can be discussed separately.

Frequently asked questions

Should I choose the 42L or 50L version?

Compare the available space with the closed dimensions first, then check lid movement and bag removal. The 50L is taller; capacity alone will not tell you whether either version suits your intended position.

Does the standard HN-ZS02 have a removable inner bucket?

No. The standard version holds the liner with a retaining ring. Ask for photos of the actual arrangement so your instructions show how to fit the bag and remove it when full.

Are batteries included with the bin?

The standard configuration uses six AA alkaline batteries. Battery inclusion should be confirmed in the quotation and packing list before you describe the supply in your retail listing.

Can I request a lid logo and printed packaging?

Laser logo marking on the lid and printed packaging can be discussed for the selected version. Send the artwork and expected order quantity; confirm the appearance, packaging specification and any charges before placing an order.
