How to Check a Sensor Trash Can Sample Before Placing a Bulk Order
A sensor trash can sample may look ready for your range after a short lid demonstration. There are still a few practical questions to settle before a bulk order: which version you received, how it works in the intended space, and what the shipment will include. A simple review gives the supplier specific points to confirm before you approve the order.
The first checks should identify the sample
Begin with the model and compare it with your quotation. Note the capacity, color and supplied configuration. Take a photograph of the sample identification and the unopened carton. As you unpack, compare the contents with the packing list and keep the protective materials until the review is finished.
Set up the bin using the instructions for that version. Fit the specified power source and watch one complete opening and closing cycle. Look at the liner position and the space around the lid. A short sequence keeps the first review manageable:
- Identify the model, capacity and color before trying the controls.
- Compare the supplied items with the agreed packing list.
- Follow the model's instructions for power and normal operation.
- Fit a suitable liner and check that it leaves the lid free to move.

Three areas to review before sample approval
Keep the review focused on the product version, everyday use and the proposed packaging. A correct model name does not settle every detail. The sample might be one capacity from a wider range, or it might arrive in shipping protection that differs from the packaging quoted for the order.
Placement also matters. A bin working on an open floor may need a different position beside a cabinet. Try the location you intend to show in retail photographs, then check access to the controls and the room needed to remove a bag.

Operating checks depend on the model
Hi-na's HN-ZH uses a sliding lid, while the HN-ZS02 uses a flip lid. Both ranges include 42L and 50L versions. If you review a 50L sample and intend to order 42L as well, obtain the smaller version's dimensions and confirm any configuration differences. Check the actual opening path for each design rather than judging clearance from a closed-product photograph.
Power and cleaning checks need the same care. Use the instructions for the supplied configuration; avoid applying another model's reset procedure. A wipe-clean exterior does not establish that the lid assembly can be rinsed or immersed. Ask for clarification when the care instructions do not answer your question.

Try the tasks a customer will repeat
Fit a liner, operate the lid and remove the bag using the arrangement on the sample. Watch for loose bag material near moving parts. If the bin must be moved for a bag change, consider whether the proposed placement is practical. Photograph any step that needs explaining so it can be covered in your retail instructions.

What a useful sample review contains
- The model, capacity, color and configuration, with the sample reference and review date.
- The carton condition and supplied items, supported by unpacking photographs.
- Product measurements, the proposed location and notes or video of normal operation.
- The points accepted, changes requested and questions still requiring an answer.
When the sample leaves questions unanswered
Keep the photographs and notes before changing the setup. If the sample behaves differently from its instructions, send the supplier the model details and a video showing what happened. Ask for an explanation, corrected documentation or another sample where needed. Put any agreed change into the final specification before approving the bulk order.
Keep the selected product reference with the quotation and the instructions supplied for the sample.
For a sliding-lid model, review the HN-ZH sensor bin page alongside the details for the chosen capacity.
For a flip-lid model, use the HN-ZS02 sensor bin page and confirm the version you intend to order.
The practical takeaway for brands and retailers
Use the review to agree what will be supplied. Hi-na's regular small-batch orders use neutral cartons; buyer carton labels can be discussed separately. Branded printed cartons have their own order conditions. For a logo on the lid, discuss laser marking for the selected configuration and agree its position, appearance and charges in the quotation.
Contact Hi-na with the model, capacity, destination and the points you want to check. Ask for sample quantities, pricing and shipping arrangements in a separate sample quotation.
FAQ
Can one sample cover both capacities
Confirm which details are shared and which differ. A 50L sample alone does not settle the 42L dimensions or configuration.
Are batteries and accessories included
Use the agreed packing list as the reference. Ask about anything missing or unclear instead of assuming another supplier's arrangement applies.
Will the bulk order use the sample packaging
Confirm the packaging in the quotation. Extra protection used to ship one sample may differ from the proposed bulk supply.
What should I send if operation differs from the instructions
Provide the model, setup and a short video showing the behavior. Include the relevant instruction or control setting.
Does sample approval establish shipment performance
One sample cannot establish consistency across a shipment or battery endurance. Agree any required performance tests and production inspections separately.
